Peak Program costs
Dr Silverman strives to keep all patient costs to a minimum within the parameters of providing a safe and effective treatment.
A full breakdown of the costs associated with the Peak Program will be provided at your initial assessment.
This cost includes the following:
- Surgical fees.
- Assistant fees.
- Post-Operative Dietetic Support.
- Post-Operative Psychological Support.
General Surgery
For general surgery and treatment, costs and payment terms will be outlined at your initial consultation and are dependent on your individual condition and circumstances.
Private Health Insurance - Bariatric Surgery
Patients considering bariatric surgery must have private health insurance, including hospital cover to be eligible for private rebates.
Please make sure your policy specifically covers bariatric surgery before making an initial consultation with Dr Silverman.
Self-Funded Patients – Bariatric Surgery
Self-funded or uninsured patients considering bariatric surgery will have to cover all of the costs associated with their admission to a private hospital. You will be provided an estimate of fees at time of consultation.
Medicare
Medicare provides access to healthcare services for free or at a lower cost and can significantly reduce the charges associated with some treatments.
You may be entitled to a full or partial refund for your appointments with Dr Silverman.

You must have a valid referral letter from your doctor before a rebate can be given.

Billing for General Surgical procedures
Dr Silverman has developed a patient-focussed pricing structure in line with Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS). Her objective is to provide superior healthcare at a price that patients can afford as defined by the Australian Health Service Alliance (AHSA) and Medicare, and her charges align with this.
Please note, for all General procedures Dr Silverman is a ‘No Gap Doctor’. This means there is no ‘gap payment’ or ‘out of pocket expense’ required for her surgical procedure.
Billing for Bariatric Surgical procedures

Bariatric surgical quotes are prepared for all patients and this quote discloses the payments required by our practice prior to your respective bariatric procedure.
All payments are required at least one week prior to your admission.
How to pay
Payments for consultations and procedures are required on the day of your appointment and can be made in the following ways:
- Cash.
- Cheque.
- Credit Card – including VISA, MasterCard, American Express (AMEX),
- EFTPOS.
- Direct Deposit.
Other Payment Options
Early Release of Superannuation
Patients may apply to the Department of Human Services (www.humanservices.gov.au), for an early release of superannuation funds to cover part of the “out of pocket” cost of undergoing obesity surgery. We will provide you with the necessary information, quotes and application forms to do so, if you decide that is the right decision for you.
